This discussion is intended to build cross-campus solidarity among activists working to fight the new trend of punitive treatment of poor people, including welfare reform, workfare, etc.
This list was established to create a dialogue between students, low-income people, and others interested in finding ways to address the root causes of hunger, homelessness, and poverty. The list includes a number of anti-poverty activists from all over the United States and Canada, and will hopefully serve as a valuable resource for discussion of ways we can form partnerships with poor and low-income people in our communities to alleviate the causes of poverty.
