user-friendly
All you need is an e-mail address and a commitment to social justice on your campus. Over 2,000 student and faculty activists with various levels of experience with the internet use CANET lists every day.
a tool for education
CANET is utilized to organize National Days of Campus Action, share experiences among activists, and rapidly respond to attacks on social justice on your campus.
run by activists
Volunteer facilitators are activists who promote discussion and screen out off-topic messages.
organized by CCO
The Center for Campus Organizing (CCO)'s mission is to promote progressive activism and investigative journalism on college campuses. CCO is a national organization staffed by current and recent campus activists.
cooperative
Many CANET lists are co-sponsored by groups which organize on the list's topic. When other lists already exist, we refer people to them directly (see references on back).
CANET provides a space to share campus activist experiences from all over the country and to organize regionally and nationally -- quickly and cheaply.
For example, for CAN-AR, the body of your "subscribe message" would look like this:
Wait for confirmation that you're on the list (it can take a day) and then introduce yourself
